Welcome to Penn State! Are you looking for a way to practice your oral English?
Our program matches Penn State international students and scholars with a fluent English speaker (most often a Penn State student or a Bridges Staff member) so you can practice your spoken English (once a week for about an hour). Our volunteers are not tutors, but they speak English fluently, and we're sure you will benefit greatly from the time you spend together. Also, we match men with men, and women with women.
Because many of our volunteers are students, this program does not begin until about the third week of classes. Of course, you are welcome to sign up now but please understand that nothing will happen until the third week of classes because it takes time to recruit new volunteers.
